It was too good to last....

not an actual image of my hands and feet

So chemo started a few weeks ago, and things had been going fine...until about a week and a half ago.

My feet started tingling, and the soles started turning really dark.

Very strange.

I did a bit of research, and apparently one of the side effects of one of the chemo drugs I'm taking is something called Hand-Foot Syndrome, or palmar-plantar erythrodysesthesia.

I mentioned it to the nurse practitioner during my next appointment, and she said it was too soon for that to develop.

Bitch.

Within days, the tingling grew to actual pain, to the point I couldn't put shoes on. Then the palms of my hands started getting dark and hurting.

I told my oncologist during my next appointment, and he is reducing my oral chemo dosage and prescribed Percocet for the pain. He also said he wants to reduce the number of weeks I do the oral chemo, to 2 weeks with a one-week break, instead of three weeks with a one-week break. This week is my break, and with a combination of CBD gel, Eucerin body creme, and cold packs, things are getting under control. I may or may not start the oral chemo again next week, depending on how my feet and hands do.

The constant pain and the inability to even go outside and take a walk are really getting to me. I hate this.
